For the do-it-yourselfers, here is a checklist for materials you may need to complete your retaining wall.
There are some items you will not need, depending on the size of your wall. For example, if the retaining wall is less than four (4) feet, you will not need an engineer.
Walls two (2) feet and under in height generally do not need a building permit. Some between the two to four feet may not either. Please check with your local, county or state building inspector departments to determine if one is required in your location for any size wall.
